PRINT THROUGH
SILK – SCREEN PRINT IS ALSO CALLED DISPERSIONPRINT OR FLATPRINT AND ITS USED WHEN THE PRINTED IMAGE IS TO BE VIEWED FROM THE TOP AND THE BOTTOM OF THE UMBRELLA. THIS TECHNIQUE ALLOWS FOR THE BRILLIANCE OF THE THE DESIGN TO BE VIEWED FROM EACH ANGLE IN FULL BRILLIANCE. TROUGH A CHEMICAL PRINTING PROCESS WHICH PASTES AND DISPERSES THE DYES, THIS AFFECT CAN BE ACHIEVED. THE BET FABRICS FOR THIS APPLICATION ARE POLYESTER FIBRES, WHICH ALLOW THE COLORS TO ENTER AS A RESULT OF THEIR HYDROPHOBIC NATURE.
PLACEMENT OF THE UMBRELLAS
During the silk-screen print,the color application is taking place on the print object through cutouts in a filter or a textile, that is clamped in a frame. In addition the color is pressed against the cavity with a rubbersqueegee (Elastomer).
Areas,where no color should pushed through,are covered with an edit format and are blocked from bleeding through.
Depending on the nature of the fabric different color applications are possible.

EFFECT OF THE PRINT THROUGH
The Coca-Cola umbrellas provide an example of the silk-screen printing process. While standing in front of the umbrellas patrons can clearly see the printed segments. While sitting underneath this type of umbrella patrons can certainly see the brilliance of each color in this logo which translates through to the bottom, as well as the top. Unlike traditional screenprinting the logo can be viewed from above or below the umbrella.
