CERTAIN DEFINING MOMENTS CHANGE HOW WE SEE THE WORLD. WITH THIS CENTRAL IDEA BMW AG ORGANIZED THE EVENT ROW "MODERN SPIRITS". IN THE LANDMARKED RESIDENCE OF THE GERMAN AMBASSADOR INNOVATIVE PERSONALITIES FROM DESIGN, ARCHITECTURE, MUSIC AND SPORTS MET IN MADRID TO PRESENT THEIR PERSONAL KEY MOMENTS OF THEIR OWN CREATIVITY. THEY WERE COVERED BY 19 PENDING TULIP UMBRELLAS. 

For this event row MDT built a landscape consisting of big-sized, overlapping tulip umbrellas, which pended above the event platform, protecting both guests and the valuable exhibits from the sun and rain. MDT also supplied compatible flooring, furniture, lighting and heating for an overall striking presentation.

The landmarked residence of the German ambassador in Madrid was an especially unusual location for the event. The evening’s highlight was the appearance of the world-famous conductor Inma Shara who invited the audience to conduct the orchestra themselves. In the midsummer it can get quite hot in Madrid. To ensure guest comfort, a wide roofscape was installed. At the same time the theme of the event – "Modern Spirits" – in the design of the canopy allowed for no compromises. The innovative vehicle concept of the new 5th GT should be presented as innovatively.

Although rain is usually not expected in mid summer in Madrid, light precipitation appeared in the evening. But that was no problem for the tulip umbrellas – they could not only proof to protect from sun but also from rain. They can be perfectly used to protect big areas from rain. By an overlapping creation a general rain protection is enabled.
