FRANKFURT ON THE MAIN
YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A MORE IDYLLIC SPOT ALONG THE BANKS OF THE MAIN RIVER IN FRANKFURT.
THE DRUCKWASSERWERK, WHICH WAS COMPLETED IN 1899, RESEMBLES AN ENCHANTED CASTLE AT THE END OF THE WESTHAFEN. THE BUILDING, WHICH IS PROTECTED AS A HISTORIC MONUMENT, WAS RESTORED WITH GREAT CARE AND GIVEN A NEW LIFE AS A RESTAURANT. THE SPACIOUS AREA IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING IS USED AS A ROOFED OUTDOOR SPACE WITH AN INCOMPARABLE PANORAMA.
DOUBLE-ROW UMBRELLA GROUPS FOR LONG ROWS OF TABLES
Fourteen permanent umbrellas covering long rows of tables provide guests with welcome shade. These required a different installation technique than what is used for individual seating, for example. A series duplication offers ideal coverage for crosswise, long tables and provides an extra-large covered area. The umbrella type comes pre-equipped to enable the simple installation of suitable heating elements, making it possible to spend time outdoors even when the weather turns colder. MDT developed a heating elements featuring a bendable arm. They are attached to the lower pole base and can be simply folded in to the pole when closing the umbrella. That keeps them from having to be dismantled when closed. The connection is installed in pairs with 230 V or with high-voltage current for four or more elements.
A sophisticated safety system with reed switches automatically shuts off the heating system when the umbrella is closed. The internal wiring is simple and easy to maintain thanks to the plug-in connector on the pole base that can be accessed when the umbrella is tilted.
