THE RESTAURANT REFETTORIO AT THE MARSTALLPLATZ IN MUNICH IS LOCATED BETWEEN THE OPERA AND STATE CHANCELLERY AND IS NAMED AFTER THE MONASTERY DINING ROOM. INSTEAD OF RETAINING THE TRADITIONAL MONASTERY STYLE, THE REFETTORIO FEATURES A COLORFUL ENVIRONMENT AND OFFERS ITS CUSTOMERS A RELAXING ATMOSPHERE. ON THE OTHER HAND, IN ORDER TO UPHOLD THE TRADITION OF THE MONKS, ALL OF THE RESTAURANT'S FOOD, RANGING FROM NOODLES TO SAUCES, IS STILL HOMEMADE. IN THE FORMER "EISBACH" AT THE MARSTALLPLATZ, ITALIAN-MEDITERRANEAN CUISINE IS NOW SERVED. IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH AUTHENTIC AND FRESH MEALS, THEY ONLY USE INGREDIENTS THAT ARE SOURCED FROM THE GREATER MUNICH AREA OR ONES WHICH ARE ALSO USED BY THEIR FOUNDING RESTAURANT IN MILAN.
Since the ground was not level, having a slight decline, an event platform was used to create a parallel surface. Features of these umbrellas include integrated anchorage, drainage, and lighting systems. The tulip umbrellas are equipped with remote controlled LED-lights, which are able to illuminate the umbrellas in a wide variety of colors. Using the lighting systems, the restaurant is able to offer its customers an inviting outdoor area which can be used late into the night.
